Question: x360ce makes me use analog but I want to move around with the Dpad

Every game I try to play I have to use the analog stick for moving around but I prefer using the dpad i.e. the left,right,up,down buttons.

I configure the dpad accordingly and I tried even leaving out the stick completely but when I start a game the dpad doesn't work and the stick is functional
