What is the game folder does not have xinput file?

Hi, everyone I am new to this forum. While learning about the x360ce emulator I understood that this software basically pathes the xinput file within the game folder. However, some games like GRID or Badland etc. don't have xinput files in their game folders. My question is how is x360ce supposed to work with these games. I looked up the compatibility list and Grid is mentioned as compatible with x360ce. Can anyone explain how this emulator works in cases when there is no file to patch.
